I Introduction

Matthew 24:37-41 But as the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man.
38 For as they were in the days before the flood: eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah went into the ark.
39 And they did not know until the flood came and took all away. So also will be the coming of the Son of Man.
40 At that time two will be out in the field; the one is taken and the one is left;
41 two grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.

Genesis 5:28-32 And Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years and fathered a son.
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This one shall comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.
30 And after he fathered Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years. And he fathered sons and daughters.
31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years. And he died.
32 And Noah was five hundred years old. And Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Genesis 6:1-7 And it was that men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them.
2 The sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good, and they took wives for themselves from all those whom they chose.
3 And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man; in their erring he is flesh. And his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
4 The giants were in the earth in those days, and even afterwards when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore to them; they were mighty ones which existed from ancient time, the men of name.
5 And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every purpose of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day.
6 And Jehovah repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart.
7 And Jehovah said, I will wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the earth, from man to cattle, to the creeping thing for I am sorry that I made them.

Genesis 6:8-10 And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah, a righteous man, had been blameless among his generations. Noah walked with God.
10 And Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Genesis 6:11-14 And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupted. For all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth.
13 And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And behold, I will destroy them along with the earth.
14 Make an ark of cyprus timbers for yourself. You shall make rooms in the ark; and you shall cover it with asphalt inside and out.

II The Sons of God

Genesis 6:2 2 The sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good, and they took wives for themselves from all those whom they chose.

Job 1:6 6 And a day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah. And Satan also came among them.

[Job 2:1 And it happened that a day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah. And Satan also came among them to present himself before Jehovah.

Job 38:7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?]

6 And Jehovah repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart.
7 And Jehovah said, I will wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the earth, from man to cattle, to the creeping thing for I am sorry that I made them.

8 And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.

15 And you shall make it this way: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
16 You shall make a window in the ark, and you shall finish it above to a cubit. And you shall set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third stories.
17 And behold, I, even I, am bringing a flood of waters on the earth in order to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the heavens. Every thing which is on the earth shall die.
18 And I will establish My covenant with you. And you shall come into the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.
19 And you shall bring into the ark two of every kind, of every living thing of all flesh, to keep alive with you; they shall be male and female;
20 from the birds according to its kind, and from the cattle according to its kind, from every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind. Two from each shall come in to you to keep alive.
21 And take for yourself all food that is eaten, and gather to yourself. And let it be for you and for them for food.
22 And Noah did so, according to all that God commanded him, so he did.

Jude 1:5-7 But I purpose to remind you, you once knowing these things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed the ones not believing.
6 And the ones of the angels not having kept their first place, but having left behind their dwellng place, He has kept in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great Day;
7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and those cities around them, in like manner to these, committing fornication, and having gone after other flesh, are set forth an example, undergoing vengeance of everlasting fire.

2 Peter 2:1-5 But there also came to be false prophets among the people, as also among you will be false teachers who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the One having bought them, the Master, bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 And many will follow their destructive ways, through whom the way of truth will be evil spoken of.
3 And by covetousness, with feigned words, they will use you for gain, for whom judgment of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.
4 For if God did not spare sinning angels, but giving them over to chains of darkness, thrust them down into Tartarus, having been kept to judgment;
5 and did not spare the ancient world, but protected Noah the eighth, a herald of righteousness, bringing a flood on a world of ungodly ones;

IV Demons

Deuteronomy 32:17 They sacrificed to demons who were not God, to gods whom they did not know, new ones who came lately. Your fathers had not dreaded them.

Leviticus 17:7 And they shall not sacrifice their sacrifices any more to goats, after which they have gone whoring. This is a perpetual statute to them throughout their generations.

Isaiah 34:14 The desert creatures shall also meet with the howlers; and the shaggy goat shall cry to his fellow. The Lillich shall also settle there, and find a resting place for herself.

Isaiah 13:21 But the desert creatures shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of howling creatures; and daughters of ostriches shall dwell there; and he-goats shall skip there.

Psalm 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons;

1 Corinthians 10:20 But the things the nations sacrifice, “they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.” Deut. 32:17 But I do not want you to become sharers of demons;

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?

Matthew 10:5-8 Jesus sent these twelve out, charging them, saying: Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not go into a Samaritan city.
6 But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And going on, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.
8 Heal feeble ones, cleanse lepers, raise dead ones, cast out demons. You freely received, freely give.

Matthew 8:28-34 And He coming to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two men being demon-possessed met Him coming out of the tombs, very violent, so that no one was able to pass through that way.
29 And, behold! They cried out, saying, What is to us and to You, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come here beforetime to torment us?
30 And far off from them there was a herd of many pigs feeding.
31 And the demons begged Him, saying, If You cast us out, allow us to go away into the herd of pigs.
32 And He said to them, Go! And coming out, these went away into the herd of pigs.
And, behold, all the herd of pigs rushed violently down the precipice into the sea,
and died in the waters.
33 But those who fed them fled, and going into the city, they told all the things of the ones who had been demon-possessed.
34 And, behold, all the city went out to meet with Jesus. And seeing Him, they begged that He move away from their borders.

Matthew 5:1-20 But seeing the crowds, He went up into the mountain, and He having sat down, His disciples came near to Him.
2 And opening His mouth, He taught them, saying:
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens.
4 Blessed are the ones mourning! For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth. Psa. 37:11
6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are the ones who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
11 Blessed are you when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and shall say every evil word against you, lying, on account of Me.
12 Rejoice and be exceeding joyful, for your reward is great in Heaven; for in this way they persecuted the prophets, the ones before you.
13 You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt becomes tasteless, with what shall
it be salted? For it has strength for nothing any more but to be thrown out and to be trampled under by men.
14 You are the light of the world. A city situated on a mountain cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under the grain measure, but on the lampstand; and it shines for all those in the house.
16 So let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father in Heaven.
17 Do not think that I came to annul the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill.
18 For truly I say to you, Until the heaven and the earth should pass away, not one iota or one point shall pass away from the Law, not until all things should occur.
19 Therefore, whoever looses one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.
20 For I say to you, If your righteousness shall not exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of God, not ever!

Matthew 9:32-35 And as they were going out, behold, they brought to Him a mute man having been possessed by a demon.
33 And the demon being cast out, the mute one spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, Never it appeared thus in Israel.
34 But the Pharisees said, He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and the villages teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every infirmity of body among the people.

Matthew 12:22-28 Then a blind and mute one having been demon-possessed was brought to Him, And He healed him, so that the blind and mute one could both speak and see.
23 And all the crowds were amazed, and said, Is this not the Son of D avid?
24 But hearing, the Pharisees said, This One does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, ruler of the demons.
25 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. And every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
26 And if Satan throws out Satan, he was divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
27 And if I cast out the demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Because of this, they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come on you.

Matthew 17:14-20 And they having come toward the crowd, a man came near to Him, kneeling down to Him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son. For he is moonstruck and suffers badly. For he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16 And I brought him to Your disciples, and they did not have power to heal him.
17 And answering, Jesus said, O faithless and perverted generation! Until when shall I be with you? Until when shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.
18 And Jesus rebuked it, and the demon came out from him; and the boy was healed from that hour.
19 Then coming up to Jesus privately, the disciples said, Why did we not have power to cast him out?
20 And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there! And it will move. And nothing shall be impossible to you.

Mark 7:24-30 And rising up from there, he went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. And entering into the house, He desired no one to know, but He could not be hidden.
25 For hearing about Him, a woman came up, one whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, coming she fell down at His feet.
26 And the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. And she asked Him, that He would cast out the demon from her daughter.
27 And Jesus said to her, First, allow the children to be satisfied, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and to throw to the little dogs.
28 But she answered and said to Him, Yes, Lord; for even the little dogs under the table eat from the crumbs of the children.
29 And He said to her, Because of this word, go. The demon has gone out from your daughter.
30 And going away to her house, she found the demon had gone out, and her little daughter being laid on the couch.

Luke 4:33-36 And in the synagogue was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice,
34 saying, Ah! What is to us and to You, Jesus, Nazarene? Did You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are, the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out from him! And throwing him into the midst, the demon came out from him, not harming him.
36 And astonishment came on all. And they spoke with one another, saying, What Word is this, that He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out?

Luke 9:1, 2 And having called together His twelve disciples, He gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to heal diseases.
2 And He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God, and to heal the ones being sick.

Romans 8:38, 39 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

1 Corinthians 10:18-22 Look at Israel according to flesh; are not those eating the sacrifices sharers of the altar?
19 What then do I say, that an idol is anything, or that an idolatrous offering is anything?
20 But the things the nations sacrifice, “they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.” Deut. 32:17 But I do not want you to become sharers of demons;
21 Not you are able to drink the cup of the Lord and a cup of demons; not you are able to partake of the table of the Lord and a table of demons.
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

1 Timothy 4:1-7 But the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons,
2 in hypocrisy of liars, being seared in their own conscience,
3 forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods, which God created for partaking with thanksgiving by the believing ones and the ones fully knowing the truth.
4 Because every creature of God is good, and nothing to be thrust away, but being received with thanksgiving;
5 for through God’s Word and supplication it is sanctified.
6 Having laid down these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, having been nourished by the words of the faith, and by the good doctrine which you have followed.
7 But refuse the profane and old-womanish myths. And exercise yourself to godliness.

James 2:19 You believe that God is One. You do well; even the demons believe and shudder.

Revelation 9:20, 21 And the rest of men, the ones who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they will not worship demons, and “golden idols, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and wooden idols, which neither are able to see, nor to hear,” nor to walk. Dan. 5:23; Psa. 115:47 135:15-17
21 And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornications, nor of their thefts.

Revelation 16:12-16 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl onto the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up so that might be prepared
the way of the kings from the rising of the sun.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are spirits of demons doing signs, which go forth to the kings of the earth, even of the whole inhabited earth to assemble them to the war of that day, the great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is the one watching and guarding his garments, that he does not walk naked, and they may see his shame.
16 And He assembled them in the place having been called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

Revelation 17:15 – 18:5 And he says to me, The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples and crowds and nations and languages.
16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, and will make her desolated and naked. And they will eat her flesh, and will burn her up with fire.
17 For God gave into their hearts to do His mind, and to act in one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18 And the woman whom you saw is the great city, the one having a kingdom over the kings of the earth.
18:1 And after these things I saw another angel coming down out of Heaven having great authority, and the earth was lighted up from his glory.
2 And he cried in a strong, great voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen! It has fallen, and it has become a dwelling place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, and hated,
3 because of the wine of the anger of her fornication which all the nations have drunk, even the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her; and the merchants of the earth became rich from the power of her luxury.
4 And I heard another voice out of Heaven saying, My people, come out of her, that you may not share in her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues;
5 that are joined with her sins, even up toHeaven, and God remembered her misdeeds.

Evil Spirits

Judges 9:22-25 And Abimelech ruled over Israel three years.
23 And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the leaders of Shechem. And the leaders of Shechem acted deceitfully with Abimelech;
24 that the violence against Jerubbaal’s seventy sons, even their blood, might be put on their brother Abimelech who killed them, and on the leaders of Shechem who made his hands strong to kill his brothers.
25 And the leaders of Shechem set for him ambushers at the tops of the mountains; and they robbed all who passed by them on the way. And it was told to Abimelech.

1 Samuel 16:10-16 And Jesse passed seven of his sons before Samuel, but Samuel said to Jesse, Jehovah has not chosen among these.
11 And Samuel said to Jesse, Are these all the young men? And he said, There yet remains the youngest; and behold, he is tending the flock. And Samuel said to Jesse, send and bring him, for we will not sit until he comes here.
12 And he sent and brought him in. And he was ruddy, with beautiful eyes and good form. And Jehovah said, Rise up, anoint him, for this is he.
13 And Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day and onward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
14 And the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah terrified him.
15 And Saul’s servants said to him, Behold, now an evil spirit from God is terrifying you.
16 Please let our lord say to your servants before you, Let them seek out a man who knows how to play on the harp. And it shall be, when the evil spirit from God is upon you, then he shall play with his hand, and it shall be well with you.

1 Samuel 16:23 And it happened, when the evil spirit from God was on Saul, even David would take the harp and play with his hand. And there was relief for Saul, and it was well with him. And the evil spirit would depart from him.

Matthew 12:43-45 But when the unclean spirit goes from a man, he goes through dry places seeking rest and does not find it.
44 Then he says, I will return to my house from which I came out. And coming, he finds it standing empty, swept and decorated.
45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and entering dwells there. And the last things of that man become worse than the first. So it will be also to this evil generation.

Luke 8:29 For He charged the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For many times it had seized him, and he was bound with chains and fetters, being guarded. And tearing apart the bonds, he was driven by the demons into the deserted places.

Acts 19:13-17 13 But certain from the going about Jewish exorcists undertook to name the name of the Lord Jesus over the ones having evil spirits, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.
14 And there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, the ones doing this.
15 But answering the evil spirit said, I know Jesus, and I comprehend Paul, but who are you?
16 And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, and having subdued them, he was strong against them, and having been wounded and naked, they fled out of that house.
17 And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, the ones living in Ephesus. And fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

V Chuck Missler’s View

Genesis 3:13-15 And Jehovah God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate.
14 And Jehovah God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all beasts, and more than every animal of the field. You shall go on your belly, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

11 they are reckoned to be giants, they too, like the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.

6 and the Horites in the hills of Seir, as far as the oak of Paran, which is by the wilderness.
7 And they turned back and came to Enmishpat which is Kadesh, and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-Tamar.
8 And the king of Sodom went out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. And they set the battle with them in the valley of Siddim,
9 with Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal the king of the nations, and Amraphel the king of Shinar, and Arioch the king of Ellasar; four kings with the five.
10 And the valley of Siddim was pitted with asphalt pits, and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there. And they that remained fled to the mountain.
11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went away.

10 which the sons of Aaron had, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the sons of Levi. For theirs was the first lot.
11 And they gave them the City of Arba, the father of Anak (which is Hebron) in the hills of Judah, with its open lands around it.
12 But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his own.

VIII Rephaites

Genesis 15:12-21 And it happened, the sun was going, and a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, a terror of great darkness was falling on him!
13 And He said to Abram, Knowing you must know that your seed shall be a sojourner in a land not theirs; and they shall serve them. And they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 and I also will judge that nation whom they shall serve; and afterward they shall come out with great substance.
15 And you shall come to your fathers in peace. You shall be buried in good old age.
16 And in the fourth generation they shall come here again; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 ¶ And it happened, the sun had gone down, and it was dark. Behold! A smoking furnace and a torch of fire that passed between those pieces!
18 On that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,
19 the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,
20 and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the giants,
21 and the Amorite and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.

Deuteronomy 2:9-11 And Jehovah said to me, Do not besiege Moab, nor stir yourself up against them in battle, for I will not give their land to you for a possession. For I have given Ar as a possession to the sons of Lot.

kings of the Amorites.

10 all the cities of the tableland, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11 For only Og the king of Bashan remained of the rest of the giants. Behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon, nine cubits long and four cubits broad, by the cubit of a man?
12 And we possessed this land at that time: from Aroer by the valley of Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead and its cities I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
13 And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, to all Bashan that is called the land of the giants.

Joshua 11:23-12:6 And Joshua took the whole of the land, according to all that Jehovah had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it for Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.
12:1 And these are the kings of the land whom the sons of Israel struck, and they seized their land beyond the Jordan, at the sunrising, from the torrent Arnon to Mount Hermon, and all the Arabah eastward:
2 Sihon the king of the Amorites who lived in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is on the lip of the torrent Arnon, and from its valley floor, and half Gilead, even to the torrent Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon;
3 and from the Arabah to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and to the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward, the way to Beth-jeshimoth; and on the south under the Slopes of Pisgah;
4 and the border of Og the king of Bashan, of the rest of the giants, who lived at Ashtaroth and into Edrei,
5 and reigned in Mount Hermon and in Salecah, and in all Bashan, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon the king of Heshbon.

Joshua 13:6-13 all the ones living in the hills, from Lebanon to the burning waters; all the Sidonians; I will dispossess them before the sons of Israel: Only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.
7 And now divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
8 With him the Reubenites, and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of Jehovah has given to them;
9 from Aroer on the lip of the torrent Arnon, and the city which is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba, to Dibon;
10 and all the cities of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the sons of Ammon;
11 and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites, and of the Maachathite, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salcah;
12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he remained of the remnant of the giants. And Moses struck them and dispossessed them.

15 And Joshua said to them, If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest for yourself, and you shall cut down for yourself there in the land of the Perizzite, and of the giants, if Mount Ephraim is too narrow for you.
16 And the sons of Joseph said, The hillcountrywill not be found by us. And every Canaanite who lives in the land of the valley has a chariot of iron, those that are of Beth-shean and its daughtertowns, and of him who is in the valley of Jezreel.
17 And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying,You are a numerous people, and have great power; you shall not have one lot,
18 because the hill is yours; because it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and its outer limits shall be yours; for you shall dispossess the Canaanite, even though it has chariots of iron; even though it is strong.

12 because our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the worldrulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies.
13 Because of this, take up the full armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand.
14 Therefore stand firm, “having girded your loins about with truth” and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,” Isa. 11:5; 59:17
15 and having shod the feet with the preparation of the “gospel of peace.” Isa. 52:7
16 Above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the darts of the evil one having been made fiery.
17 Also, take “the helmet of salvation,” and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; Isa. 59:17 LXX-Isa. 11:4; MT-Isa. 49:2; LXX and MT-Hos. 6:5

The Book of Jubilees

Chapter 10

X. 1 And in the third week of this jubilee the unclean demons 2 began to lead astray the children of 3 the sons of Noah; and to make to err and destroy them. 2. And the sons of Noah came to Noah their father, and they told him concerning the demons which were, leading astray and blinding and slaying his sons' sons. 3. And he prayed before the Lord his God, and said: God of the spirits of all flesh, 4 who hast shown mercy unto me, And hast saved me and my sons from the waters of the flood, And hast not caused me to perish as Thou didst the sons of perdition; 5 For Thy grace hath been great towards me, And great hath been Thy mercy to my soul; Let Thy grace be lift up upon my sons, And let not wicked spirits rule over them Lest they should destroy them from the earth. 4. But do Thou bless me and my sons, that we may increase and multiply and replenish the earth. 5. And Thou knowest how Thy Watchers, the fathers of these spirits, acted in my day: and as for these spirits which are living, imprison them and hold them fast in the place of condemnation, and let them not bring destruction on the sons of thy servant, my God; for these are malignant, and created in order to destroy. 6. And let them not rule over the spirits of the living; for Thou alone canst exercise dominion over them. And let them not have power over the sons of the righteous from henceforth and for evermore." 7. And the Lord our God bade us to bind all.

Chapter 6

And in the twenty-eighth jubilee Noah began to enjoin upon his sons' sons the ordinances and commandments, and all the judgments that he knew, and he exhorted his sons to observe righteousness, and to cover the shame of their flesh, and to bless their Creator, and honour father and mother, and love their neighbour, and guard their souls 21 from fornication and uncleanness and all iniquity. For owing to these three things came the flood upon the earth, namely, owing to the fornication wherein the Watchers against the law of their ordinances went a whoring after the daughters of men, and took themselves wives of all which they 22 chose: and they made the beginning of uncleanness. And they begat sons the Naphidim, and they were all unlike, and they devoured one another: and the Giants slew the Naphil, and the 23 Naphil slew the Eljo, and the Eljo mankind, and one man another. And every one sold himself 24 to work iniquity and to shed much blood, and the earth was filled with iniquity. And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moves and walks on the earth: and much blood was shed on the earth, and every imagination and desire of men imagined vanity and evil 25 continually. And the Lord destroyed everything from off the face of the earth; because of the wickedness of their deeds, and because of the blood which they had shed in the midst of the earth 26 He destroyed everything. 'And we were left, I and you, my sons, and everything that entered with us into the ark,
