22 Truths of 1948

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS

The Feast of Trumpets began in 1948.

The Truths restored to the church at this time were:

The Restoration of Lost Years

Joel 2:25 And I will restore <07999> (8765) to you the years <08141> that the locust <0697> hath eaten <0398> (8804) , the cankerworm <03218>, and the caterpiller <02625>, and the palmerworm <01501>, my great <01419> army <02428> which I sent <07971> (8765) among you.

The Revelation of the Body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12:12 For <1063> as <2509> the body <4983> is <2076> (5748) one <1520>, and <2532> hath <2192> (5719) many <4183> members <3196>, and <1161> all <3956> the members <3196> of that one <1520> body <4983>, being <5607> (5752) many <4183>, are <2076> (5748) one <1520> body <4983>: so <3779> also <2532> is Christ <5547>.

Christ is the Head of the Body

Colossians 1:18 And <2532> he <846> is <2076> (5748) the head <2776> of the body <4983>, the church <1577> : who <3739> is <2076> (5748) the beginning <746>, the firstborn <4416> from <1537> the dead <3498>; that <2443> in <1722> all <3956> things he <846> might have <1096> (5638) the preeminence <4409> (5723) . {in…: or, among all}

The Five-fold Ascension Gift Ministries

Ephesians 4:11-15 And <2532> he <846> gave <1325> (5656) some <3303>, apostles <652>; and <1161> some, prophets <4396>; and <1161> some, evangelists <2099>; and <1161> some, pastors <4166> and <2532> teachers <1320>;

12 For <4314> the perfecting <2677> of the saints <40>, for <1519> the work <2041> of the ministry <1248> , for <1519> the edifying <3619> of the body <4983> of Christ <5547>:

13 Till <3360> we all <3956> come <2658> (5661) in <1519> the unity <1775> of the faith <4102> , and <2532> of the knowledge <1922> of the Son <5207> of God <2316>, unto <1519> a perfect <5046> man <435> , unto <1519> the measure <3358> of the stature <2244> of the fulness <4138> of Christ <5547>: {in: or, into} {stature: or, age}

14 That <2443> we henceforth be <5600> (5753) no more <3371> children <3516>, tossed to and fro <2831> (5740), and <2532> carried about with <4064> (5746) every <3956> wind <417> of doctrine <1319>, by <1722> the sleight <2940> of men <444>, and cunning craftiness <1722> <3834>, whereby <4314> they lie in wait <3180> to deceive <4106>;

15 But <1161> speaking the truth <226> (5723) in <1722> love <26>, may grow up <837> (5661) into <1519> him <846> in all things <3956>, which <3739> is <2076> (5748) the head <2776>, even Christ <5547>: {speaking…: or, being sincere}

The Restoration of the Gifts of the Spirit

1 Corinthians 12:8-10
For <1063> to one <3739> <3303> is given <1325> (5743) by <1223> the Spirit <4151> the word <3056> of wisdom <4678>; <1161> to another <243> the word <3056> of knowledge <1108> by <2596> the same <846> Spirit <4151>;

9 <1161> To another <2087> faith <4102> by <1722> the same <846> Spirit <4151>; <1161> to another <243> the gifts <5486> of healing <2386> by <1722> the same <846> Spirit <4151>;

10 <1161> To another <243> the working <1755> of miracles <1411>; <1161> to another <243> prophecy <4394>; <1161> to another <243> discerning <1253> of spirits <4151>; <1161> to another <2087> divers kinds <1085> of tongues <1100>; <1161> to another <243> the interpretation <2058> of tongues <1100>:

The Apostles Doctrine and the First Principles

Acts 2:42
And <1161> they continued <2258> (5713) stedfastly <4342> (5723) in the apostles <652>‘ doctrine <1322> and <2532> fellowship <2842>, and <2532> in breaking <2800> of bread <740>, and <2532> in prayers <4335> .

Hebrews 6:1, 2 Therefore <1352> leaving <863> (5631) the principles <746> of the doctrine <3056> of Christ <5547> , let us go on <5342> (5747) unto <1909> perfection <5047>; not <3361> laying <2598> (5734) again <3825> the foundation <2310> of repentance <3341> from <575> dead <3498> works <2041>, and <2532> of faith <4102> toward <1909> God <2316>, {principles…: or, word of the beginning of}

2 Of the doctrine <1322> of baptisms <909>, and <5037> of laying on <1936> of hands <5495>, and <5037> of resurrection <386> of the dead <3498>, and <2532> of eternal <166> judgment <2917>.

The Present Truth of the Laying on of Hands [No Truth Has Been Restored to the Church Since 1948]

2 Peter 1:12
Wherefore <1352> I will <272> <0> not <3756> be negligent <272> (5692) to put <5279> <0> you <5209> always <104> in remembrance <5279> (5721) of <4012> these things <5130>, though <2539> ye know <1492> (5761) them, and <2532> be established <4741> (5772) in <1722> the present <3918> (5752) truth <225>.

The Lord's Table and Discerning the Lord's Body

1 Corinthians 11:23-30
For <1063> I <1473> have received <3880> (5627) of <575> the Lord <2962> that which <3739> also <2532> I delivered <3860> (5656) unto you <5213>, That <3754> the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> the same night <3571> in <1722> which <3739> he was betrayed <3860> (5712) took <2983> (5627) bread <740> :

24 And <2532> when he had given thanks <2168> (5660), he brake <2806> (5656) it, and <2532> said <2036> (5627), Take <2983> (5628), eat <5315> (5628): this <5124> is <2076> (5748) my <3450> body <4983>, which <3588> is broken <2806> (5746) for <5228> you <5216>: this <5124> do <4160> (5720) in <1519> remembrance <364> of me <1699>. {in…: or, for a remembrance}

25 After the same manner <5615> also <2532> he took the cup <4221>, when <3326> he had supped <1172> (5658), saying <3004> (5723), This <5124> cup <4221> is <2076> (5748) the new <2537> testament <1242> in <1722> my <1699> blood <129>: this <5124> do ye <4160> (5720), as oft as <3740> <302> ye drink <4095> (5725) it, in <1519> remembrance <364> of me <1699>.

26 For <1063> as often as <302> <3740> ye eat <2068> (5725) this <5126> bread <740>, and <2532> drink <4095> (5725) this <5124> cup <4221>, ye do shew <2605> (5719) the Lord’s <2962> death <2288> till <891> <302> he <3739> come <2064> (5632). {ye do…: or, shew ye}

27 Wherefore <5620> whosoever <3739> <302> shall eat <2068> (5725) this <5126> bread <740> , and <2228> drink <4095> (5725) this cup <4221> of the Lord <2962>, unworthily <371>, shall be <2071> (5704) guilty <1777> of the body <4983> and <2532> blood <129> of the Lord <2962>.

28 But <1161> let <1381> <0> a man <444> examine <1381> (5720) himself <1438>, and <2532> so <3779> let him eat <2068> (5720) of <1537> that bread <740>, and <2532> drink <4095> (5720) of <1537> that cup <4221>.

29 For <1063> he that eateth <2068> (5723) and <2532> drinketh <4095> (5723) unworthily <371> , eateth <2068> (5719) and <2532> drinketh <4095> (5719) damnation <2917> to himself <1438>, not <3361> discerning <1252> (5723) the Lord’s <2962> body <4983>. {damnation: or, judgment}

30 For <1223> <0> this <5124> cause <1223> many <4183> are weak <772> and <2532> sickly <732> among <1722> you <5213>, and <2532> many <2425> sleep <2837> (5743).

Clear, Distinct Messages Had to be Sounded

Revelation 2:29
He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>.

Mark 4:23, 24
If any man <1536> have <2192> (5719) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

24 And <2532> he said <3004> (5707) unto them <846>, Take heed <991> (5720) what <5101> ye hear <191> (5719): with <1722> what <3739> measure <3358> ye mete <3354> (5719), it shall be measured <3354> (5701) to you <5213>: and <2532> unto you <5213> that hear <191> (5723) shall more be given <4369> (5701).

What has to do with quantity.

Luke 8:18 Take heed <991> (5720) therefore <3767> how <4459> ye hear <191> (5719): for <1063> whosoever <3739> <302> hath <2192> (5725), to him <846> shall be given <1325> (5701); and <2532> whosoever <3739> <302> hath <2192> (5725) not <3361>, from <575> him <846> shall be taken <142> (5701) even <2532> that which <3739> he seemeth <1380> (5719) to have <2192> (5721). {seemeth…: or, thinketh that he hath}

How has to do with quality.

 The Bible teaches that the Christian has two sets of ears. He has natural ears. He also has ears in his spirit. It is in relation to the last pair of ears that the Lord Jesus is speaking in the foregoing Scriptures. It is imperative that the believer hear the message that is spoken by the Spirit. It is vitally important that it be understood.

Fifteen times did the Lord Jesus utter the statement, He That Hath Ears to Hear Let Him Hear. Seven occurrences took place on earth during the days of His earthly ministry. These references are:

Matthew 11:15 He that hath <2192> (5723) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

Matthew 13:9 Who <3588> hath <2192> (5723) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

Matthew 13:43 Then <5119> shall the righteous <1342> shine forth <1584> (5692) as <5613> the sun <2246> in <1722> the kingdom <932> of their <846> Father <3962>. Who <3588> hath <2192> (5723) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

Mark 4:23 If any man <1536> have <2192> (5719) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

Mark 7:16 If any man <1536> have <2192> (5719) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

Luke 8:8 And <2532> other <2087> fell <4098> (5627) on <1909> good <18> ground <1093>, and <2532> sprang up <5453> (5651), and bare <4160> (5656) fruit <2590> an hundredfold <1542>. And when he had said <3004> (5723) these things <5023>, he cried <5455> (5707), He that hath <2192> (5723) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

Luke 14:35 It is <2076> (5748) neither <3777> fit <2111> for <1519> the land <1093>, nor yet <3777> for <1519> the dunghill <2874>; but men cast <906> (5719) it <846> out <1854>. He that hath <2192> (5723) ears <3775> to hear <191> (5721), let him hear <191> (5720).

These words were never uttered by a human being!

The following seven are found in the concluding statements by the Lord to each of the seven churches in the Book of Revelation. These references are:

Revelation 2:7 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>; To him <846> that overcometh <3528> (5723) will I give <1325> (5692) to eat <5315> (5629) of <1537> the tree <3586> of life <2222>, which <3739> is <2076> (5748) in <1722> the midst <3319> of the paradise <3857> of God <2316>.

Revelation 2:11 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>; He that overcometh <3528> (5723) shall <91> <0> not <3364> be hurt <91> (5686) of <1537> the second <1208> death <2288>.

 Revelation 2:17 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>; To him <846> that overcometh <3528> (5723) will I give <1325> (5692) to eat <5315> (5629) of <575> the hidden <2928> (5772) manna <3131>, and <2532> will give <1325> (5692) him <846> a white <3022> stone <5586>, and <2532> in <1909> the stone <5586> a new <2537> name <3686> written <1125> (5772), which <3739> no man <3762> knoweth <1097> (5627) saving <1508> he that receiveth <2983> (5723) it.

Revelation 2:29 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>.

Revelation 3:6 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>.

Revelation 3:13 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>.

Revelation 3:22 He that hath <2192> (5723) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657) what <5101> the Spirit <4151> saith <3004> (5719) unto the churches <1577>.

The final time this phrase is used is in:

Revelation 13:9 If any man <1536> have <2192> (5719) an ear <3775>, let him hear <191> (5657); immediately following the section where the beast makes war with the saints and overcomes them!
Identification of the Believer With the Death and Resurrection of Christ

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified <4957> (5769) with Christ <5547>: nevertheless <1161> I live <2198> (5719); yet not <3765> I <1473>, but <1161> Christ <5547> liveth <2198> (5719) in <1722> me <1698>: and <1161> the life which <3739> I <2198> <0> now <3568> live <2198> (5719) in <1722> the flesh <4561> I live <2198> (5719) by <1722> the faith <4102> of the Son <5207> of God <2316>, who <3588> loved <25> (5660) me <3165>, and <2532> gave <3860> (5631) himself <1438> for <5228> me <1700>.

The more correct translation is in the past tense: I have been crucified with Christ. [Literal]

Romans 6, 7, 8 What <5101> shall we say <2046> (5692) then <3767>? Shall we continue <1961> (5692) in sin <266>, that <2443> grace <5485> may abound <4121> (5661)?

2 God forbid <3361> <1096> (5636). How <4459> shall we, that <3748> are dead <599> (5627) to sin <266>, live <2198> (5692) any longer <2089> therein <1722> <846>?

3 <2228> Know ye not <50> (5719), that so <3754> many of us <3745> as were baptized <907> (5681) into <1519> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> were baptized <907> (5681) into <1519> his <846> death <2288> ? {were: or, are}

4 Therefore <3767> we are buried with <4916> (5648) him <846> by <1223> baptism <908> into <1519> death <2288>: that <2443> like as <5618> Christ <5547> was raised up <1453> (5681) from <1537> the dead <3498> by <1223> the glory <1391> of the Father <3962>, even so <3779> we <2249> also <2532> should walk <4043> (5661) in <1722> newness <2538> of life <2222>.

5 For <1063> if <1487> we have been <1096> (5754) planted together <4854> in the likeness <3667> of his <846> death <2288>, we shall be <2071> (5704) also <235> <2532> in the likeness of his resurrection <386>:

6 Knowing <1097> (5723) this <5124>, that <3754> our <2257> old <3820> man <444> is crucified with <4957> (5681) him, that <2443> the body <4983> of sin <266> might be destroyed <2673> (5686), that henceforth <3371> <0> we <2248> should <1398> <0> not <3371> serve <1398> (5721) sin <266> .

7 For <1063> he that is dead <599> (5631) is freed <1344> (5769) from <575> sin <266>. {freed: Gr. justified}

8 Now <1161> if <1487> we be dead <599> (5627) with <4862> Christ <5547>, we believe <4100> (5719) that <3754> we shall <4800> <0> also <2532> live <4800> (5692) with him <846>:

9 Knowing <1492> (5761) that <3754> Christ <5547> being raised <1453> (5685) from <1537> the dead <3498> dieth <599> (5719) no more <3765>; death <2288> hath <2961> <0> no more <3765> dominion over <2961> (5719) him <846>.

10 For <3739> <1063> in that he died <599> (5627), he died <599> (5627) unto sin <266> once <2178>: but <1161> in that <3739> he liveth <2198> (5719), he liveth <2198> (5719) unto God <2316> .

11 Likewise <3779> reckon <3049> (5737) ye <5210> also <2532> yourselves <1438> to be <1511> (5750) dead <3498> indeed <3303> unto sin <266>, but <1161> alive <2198> (5723) unto God <2316> through <1722> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> our <2257> Lord <2962>.

12 Let <936> <0> not <3361> sin <266> therefore <3767> reign <936> (5720) in <1722> your <5216> mortal <2349> body <4983>, that <1519> ye should obey <5219> (5721) it <846> in <1722> the lusts <1939> thereof <846>.

13 Neither <3366> yield ye <3936> (5720) your <5216> members <3196> as instruments <3696> of unrighteousness <93> unto sin <266>: but <235> yield <3936> (5657) yourselves <1438> unto God <2316>, as <5613> those that are alive <2198> (5723) from <1537> the dead <3498>, and <2532> your <5216> members <3196> as instruments <3696> of righteousness <1343> unto God <2316>. {instruments: Gr. arms, or, weapons}

14 For <1063> sin <266> shall <2961> <0> not <3756> have dominion over <2961> (5692) you <5216>: for <1063> ye are <2075> (5748) not <3756> under <5259> the law <3551>, but <235> under <5259> grace <5485>.

15 What <5101> then <3767>? shall we sin <264> (5692), because <3754> we are <2070> (5748) not <3756> under <5259> the law <3551>, but <235> under <5259> grace <5485>? God forbid <3361> <1096> (5636).

16 Know ye <1492> (5758) not <3756>, that <3754> to whom <3739> ye yield <3936> (5719) yourselves <1438> servants <1401> to <1519> obey <5218>, his servants <1401> ye are <2075> (5748) to whom <3739> ye obey <5219> (5719); whether <2273> of sin <266> unto <1519> death <2288>, or <2228> of obedience <5218> unto <1519> righteousness <1343>?

17 But <1161> God <2316> be thanked <5485>, that <3754> ye were <2258> (5713) the servants <1401> of sin <266>, but <1161> ye have obeyed <5219> (5656) from <1537> the heart <2588> that form <5179> of doctrine <1322> which <1519> <3739> was delivered you <3860> (5681). {which…: Gr. whereto ye were delivered}

18 Being <1659> <0> then <1161> made free <1659> (5685) from <575> sin <266>, ye became the servants <1402> (5681) of righteousness <1343>.

19 I speak <3004> (5719) after the manner of men <442> because <1223> of the infirmity <769> of your <5216> flesh <4561>: for <1063> as <5618> ye have yielded <3936> (5656) your <5216> members <3196> servants <1401> to uncleanness <167> and <2532> to iniquity <458> unto <1519> iniquity <458>; even so <3779> now <3568> yield <3936> (5657) your <5216> members <3196> servants <1401> to righteousness <1343> unto <1519> holiness <38>.

20 For <1063> when <3753> ye were <2258> (5713) the servants <1401> of sin <266>, ye were <2258> (5713) free <1658> from righteousness <1343>. {from…: Gr. to righteousness}

21 What <5101> <3767> fruit <2590> had ye <2192> (5707) then <5119> in <1909> those things whereof <3739> ye are <1870> <0> now <3568> ashamed <1870> (5736)? for <1063> the end <5056> of those things <1565> is death <2288>.

22 But <1161> now <3570> being made free <1659> (5685) from <575> sin <266>, and <1161> become servants <1402> (5685) to God <2316>, ye have <2192> (5719) your <5216> fruit <2590> unto <1519> holiness <38>, and <1161> the end <5056> everlasting <166> life <2222>.

23 For <1063> the wages <3800> of sin <266> is death <2288>; but <1161> the gift <5486> of God <2316> is eternal <166> life <2222> through <1722> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> our <2257> Lord <2962> .

Chapter 7

1 <2228> Know ye not <50> (5719), brethren <80>, (for <1063> I speak <2980> (5719) to them that know <1097> (5723) the law <3551>,) how that <3754> the law <3551> hath dominion over <2961> (5719) a man <444> as long as <1909> <3745> <5550> he liveth <2198> (5719)?

2 For <1063> the woman <1135> which hath an husband <5220> is bound <1210> (5769) by the law <3551> to her husband <435> so long as he liveth <2198> (5723); but <1161> if <1437> the husband <435> be dead <599> (5632), she is loosed <2673> (5769) from <575> the law <3551> of her husband <435>.

3 So then <686> <3767> if <1437>, while her husband <435> liveth <2198> (5723), she be married <1096> (5638) to another <2087> man <435>, she shall be called <5537> (5692) an adulteress <3428>: but <1161> if <1437> her husband <435> be dead <599> (5632), she is <2076> (5748) free <1658> from <575> that law <3551>; so that she <846> is <1511> (5750) no <3361> adulteress <3428>, though she be married <1096> (5637) to another <2087> man <435>.

4 Wherefore <5620>, my <3450> brethren <80>, ye <5210> also <2532> are become dead <2289> (5681) to the law <3551> by <1223> the body <4983> of Christ <5547>; that <1519> ye <5209> should be married <1096> (5635) to another <2087>, even to him who is raised <1453> (5685) from <1537> the dead <3498>, that <2443> we should bring forth fruit <2592> (5661) unto God <2316>.

5 For <1063> when <3753> we were <2258> (5713) in <1722> the flesh <4561>, the motions <3804> of sins <266>, which <3588> were by <1223> the law <3551>, did work <1754> (5710) in <1722> our <2257> members <3196> to bring <1519> forth fruit <2592> (5658) unto death <2288>. {motions: Gr. passions}

6 But <1161> now <3570> we are delivered <2673> (5681) from <575> the law <3551>, that being dead <599> (5631) (5625) <599> (5631) wherein <1722> <3739> we were held <2722> (5712); that <5620> we <2248> should serve <1398> (5721) in <1722> newness <2538> of spirit <4151>, and <2532> not <3756> in the oldness <3821> of the letter <1121>. {that being…: or, being dead to that}

7 What <5101> shall we say <2046> (5692) then <3767>? Is the law <3551> sin <266>? God forbid <3361> <1096> (5636). Nay <235>, I had <1097> <0> not <3756> known <1097> (5627) sin <266>, but <1508> by <1223> the law <3551>: for <1063> <5037> I had <1492> <0> not <3756> known <1492> (5715) lust <1939>, except <1508> the law <3551> had said <3004> (5707), Thou shalt <1937> <0> not <3756> covet <1937> (5692). {lust: or, concupiscence}

8 But <1161> sin <266>, taking <2983> (5631) occasion <874> by <1223> the commandment <1785> , wrought <2716> (5662) in <1722> me <1698> all manner of <3956> concupiscence <1939>. For <1063> without <5565> the law <3551> sin <266> was dead <3498>.

9 For <1161> I <1473> was alive <2198> (5707) without <5565> the law <3551> once <4218> : but <1161> when the commandment <1785> came <2064> (5631), sin <266> revived <326> (5656), and <1161> I <1473> died <599> (5627).

10 And <2532> the commandment <1785>, which <3588> was ordained to <1519> life <2222>, I <3427> found <2147> (5681) <3778> to be unto <1519> death <2288>.

11 For <1063> sin <266>, taking <2983> (5631) occasion <874> by <1223> the commandment <1785> , deceived <1818> (5656) me <3165>, and <2532> by <1223> it <846> slew <615> (5656) me.

12 Wherefore <5620> <3303> the law <3551> is holy <40>, and <2532> the commandment <1785> holy <40>, and <2532> just <1342>, and <2532> good <18>.

13 Was then <3767> that which is good <18> made <1096> (5754) death <2288> unto me <1698>? God forbid <3361> <1096> (5636). But <235> sin <266>, that <2443> it might appear <5316> (5652) sin <266> , working <2716> (5740) death <2288> in me <3427> by <1223> that which is good <18>; that <2443> sin <266> by <1223> the commandment <1785> might become <1096> (5638) exceeding <2596> <5236> sinful <268>.

14 For <1063> we know <1492> (5758) that <3754> the law <3551> is <2076> (5748) spiritual <4152>: but <1161> I <1473> am <1510> (5748) carnal <4559>, sold <4097> (5772) under <5259> sin <266>.

15 For <1063> that which <3739> I do <2716> (5736) I allow <1097> (5719) not <3756>: for <1063> what <3739> I would <2309> (5719), that <5124> do I <4238> (5719) not <3756>; but <235> what <3739> I hate <3404> (5719), that <5124> do I <4160> (5719). {allow: Gr. know}

16 If <1487> then <1161> I do <4160> (5719) that <5124> which <3739> I would <2309> (5719) not <3756>, I consent <4852> (5748) unto the law <3551> that <3754> it is good <2570>.

17 Now <3570> then <1161> it is no more <3765> I <1473> that do <2716> (5736) it <846>, but <235> sin <266> that dwelleth <3611> (5723) in <1722> me <1698>.

18 For <1063> I know <1492> (5758) that <3754> in <1722> me <1698> (that is <5123> (5748), in <1722> my <3450> flesh <4561>,) dwelleth <3611> (5719) no <3756> good thing <18>: for <1063> to will <2309> (5721) is present <3873> (5736) with me <3427>; but <1161> how to perform <2716> (5738) that which is good <2570> I find <2147> (5719) not <3756>.

19 For <1063> <3739> the good <18> that I would <2309> (5719) I do <4160> (5719) not <3756>: but <235> the evil <2556> which <3739> I would <2309> (5719) not <3756>, that <5124> I do <4238> (5719).

20 Now <1161> if <1487> <3739> I do <4160> (5719) that <5124> I <1473> would <2309> (5719) not <3756>, it is no more <2089> <3765> I <1473> that do <2716> (5736) it <846>, but <235> sin <266> that dwelleth <3611> (5723) in <1722> me <1698>.

21 I find <2147> (5719) then <686> a law <3551>, that <3754>, when I <1698> would <2309> (5723) do <4160> (5721) good <2570>, evil <2556> is present <3873> (5736) with me <1698>.

22 For <1063> I delight <4913> (5736) in the law <3551> of God <2316> after <2596> the inward <2080> man <444>:

23 But <1161> I see <991> (5719) another <2087> law <3551> in <1722> my <3450> members <3196>, warring against <497> (5740) the law <3551> of my <3450> mind <3563>, and <2532> bringing <163> <0> me <3165> into captivity <163> (5723) to the law <3551> of sin <266> which <3588> is <5607> (5752) in <1722> my <3450> members <3196>.

24 O wretched <5005> man <444> that I am <1473>! who <5101> shall deliver <4506> (5695) me <3165> from <1537> the body <4983> of this <5127> death <2288>? {the body…: or, this body of death}

Chapter 8

1 There is therefore <686> now <3568> no <3762> condemnation <2631> to them which are in <1722> Christ <5547> Jesus <2424>, who walk <4043> (5723) not <3361> after <2596> the flesh <4561>, but <235> after <2596> the Spirit <4151>.

2 For <1063> the law <3551> of the Spirit <4151> of life <2222> in <1722> Christ <5547> Jesus <2424> hath made <1659> <0> me <3165> free <1659> (5656) from <575> the law <3551> of sin <266> and <2532> death <2288>.

3 For <1063> what the law <3551> could not do <102>, in <1722> that <3739> it was weak <770> (5707) through <1223> the flesh <4561>, God <2316> sending <3992> (5660) his own <1438> Son <5207> in <1722> the likeness <3667> of sinful <266> flesh <4561>, and <2532> for <4012> sin <266>, condemned <2632> (5656) sin <266> in <1722> the flesh <4561>: {for sin: or, by a sacrifice for sin}

4 That <2443> the righteousness <1345> of the law <3551> might be fulfilled <4137> (5686) in <1722> us <2254>, who walk <4043> (5723) not <3361> after <2596> the flesh <4561>, but <235> after <2596> the Spirit <4151>.

5 For <1063> they that are <5607> (5752) after <2596> the flesh <4561> do mind <5426> (5719) the things <3588> of the flesh <4561>; but <1161> they that are after <2596> the Spirit <4151> the things <3588> of the Spirit <4151>.

6 For <1063> to be <5427> <0> carnally <4561> minded <5427> is death <2288>; but <1161> to be <5427> <0> spiritually <4151> minded <5427> is life <2222> and <2532> peace <1515>. {to be carnally…: Gr. the minding of the flesh} {to be spiritually…: Gr. the minding of the Spirit}

7 Because <1360> the carnal <4561> mind <5427> is enmity <2189> against <1519> God <2316>: for <1063> it is <5293> <0> not <3756> subject <5293> (5743) to the law <3551> of God <2316>, neither <3761> indeed <1063> can be <1410> (5736). {the carnal…: Gr. the minding of the flesh}

8 So then <1161> they that are <5607> (5752) in <1722> the flesh <4561> cannot <3756> <1410> (5736) please <700> (5658) God <2316>.

9 But <1161> ye <5210> are <2075> (5748) not <3756> in <1722> the flesh <4561>, but <235> in <1722> the Spirit <4151>, if so be <1512> that the Spirit <4151> of God <2316> dwell <3611> (5719) in <1722> you <5213>. Now <1161> if any man <1536> have <2192> (5719) not <3756> the Spirit <4151> of Christ <5547>, he <3778> is <2076> (5748) none <3756> of his <846>.

10 And <1161> if <1487> Christ <5547> be in <1722> you <5213>, the body <4983> <3303> is dead <3498> because <1223> of sin <266>; but <1161> the Spirit <4151> is life <2222> because <1223> of righteousness <1343>.

11 But <1161> if <1487> the Spirit <4151> of him that raised up <1453> (5660) Jesus <2424> from <1537> the dead <3498> dwell <3611> (5719) in <1722> you <5213>, he that raised up <1453> (5660) Christ <5547> from <1537> the dead <3498> shall <2227> <0> also <2532> quicken <2227> (5692) your <5216> mortal <2349> bodies <4983> by <1223> his <846> Spirit <4151> that dwelleth <1774> (5723) (5625) <1774> (5723) in <1722> you <5213>. {by: or, because of}

12 Therefore <686> <3767>, brethren <80>, we are <2070> (5748) debtors <3781>, not <3756> to the flesh <4561>, to live <2198> (5721) after <2596> the flesh <4561>.

13 For <1063> if <1487> ye live <2198> (5719) after <2596> the flesh <4561>, ye shall <3195> (5719) die <599> (5721): but <1161> if <1487> ye <2289> <0> through the Spirit <4151> do mortify <2289> (5719) the deeds <4234> of the body <4983>, ye shall live <2198> (5695).

14 For <1063> as many as <3745> are led <71> (5743) by the Spirit <4151> of God <2316>, they <3778> are <1526> (5748) the sons <5207> of God <2316>.

15 For <1063> ye have <2983> <0> not <3756> received <2983> (5627) the spirit <4151> of bondage <1397> again <3825> to <1519> fear <5401>; but <235> ye have received <2983> (5627) the Spirit <4151> of adoption <5206>, whereby <1722> <3739> we cry <2896> (5719), Abba <5>, Father <3962>.
16 The Spirit <4151> itself <846> beareth witness <4828> (5719) with our <2257> spirit <4151>, that <3754> we are <2070> (5748) the children <5043> of God <2316>:

17 And <1161> if <1487> children <5043>, then <2532> heirs <2818>; heirs <2818> of God <3303> <2316>, and <1161> joint-heirs <4789> with Christ <5547>; if so be <1512> that we suffer with <4841> (5719) him, that <2443> we may be <4888> <0> also <2532> glorified together <4888> (5686).

18 For <1063> I reckon <3049> (5736) that <3754> the sufferings <3804> of this present <3568> time <2540> are not <3756> worthy <514> to be compared with <4314> the glory <1391> which shall <3195> (5723) be revealed <601> (5683) in <1519> us <2248>.

19 For <1063> the earnest expectation <603> of the creature <2937> waiteth <553> (5736) for the manifestation <602> of the sons <5207> of God <2316>.

20 For <1063> the creature <2937> was made subject <5293> (5648) to vanity <3153>, not <3756> willingly <1635>, but <235> by reason <1223> of him who hath subjected <5293> (5660) the same in <1909> hope <1680> ,

21 Because <3754> the creature <2937> itself <846> also <2532> shall be delivered <1659> (5701) from <575> the bondage <1397> of corruption <5356> into <1519> the glorious <1391> liberty <1657> of the children <5043> of God <2316>.

22 For <1063> we know <1492> (5758) that <3754> the whole <3956> creation <2937> groaneth <4959> (5719) and <2532> travaileth in pain together <4944> (5719) until <891> now <3568>. {the…: or, every creature}

23 And <1161> not <3756> only <3440> they, but <235> ourselves <846> also <2532>, which have <2192> (5723) the firstfruits <536> of the Spirit <4151>, even <2532> we <2249> ourselves <846> groan <4727> (5719) within <1722> ourselves <1438>, waiting <553> (5740) for the adoption <5206>, to wit, the redemption <629> of our <2257> body <4983>.

24 For <1063> we are saved <4982> (5681) by hope <1680>: but <1161> hope <1680> that is seen <991> (5746) is <2076> (5748) not <3756> hope <1680>: for <1063> what <3739> a man <5100> seeth <991> (5719), why <5101> doth he <1679> <0> yet <2532> hope for <1679> (5719)?

25 But <1161> if <1487> we hope <1679> (5719) for that <3739> we see <991> (5719) not <3756>, then do we <553> <0> with <1223> patience <5281> wait for <553> (5736) it.

26 <1161> Likewise <5615> the Spirit <4151> also <2532> helpeth <4878> (5736) our <2257> infirmities <769>: for <1063> we know <1492> (5758) not <3756> what <5101> we should pray for <4336> (5667) as <2526> we ought <1163> (5748): but <235> the Spirit <4151> itself <846> maketh intercession <5241> (5719) for <5228> us <2257> with groanings <4726> which cannot be uttered <215>.

27 And <1161> he that searcheth <2045> (5723) the hearts <2588> knoweth <1492> (5758) what <5101> is the mind <5427> of the Spirit <4151>, because <3754> he maketh intercession <1793> (5719) for <5228> the saints <40> according <2596> to the will of God <2316>. {because: or, that}

28 And <1161> we know <1492> (5758) that all things <3956> work together <4903> (5719) for <1519> good <18> to them that <3754> love <25> (5723) God <2316>, to them who are <5607> (5752) the called <2822> according <2596> to his purpose <4286>.

29 For <3754> whom <3739> he did foreknow <4267> (5656), he <4309> <0> also <2532> did predestinate <4309> (5656) to be conformed <4832> to the image <1504> of his <846> Son <5207>, that <1519> he <846> might be <1511> (5750) the firstborn <4416> among <1722> many <4183> brethren <80>.

30 Moreover <1161> whom <3739> he did predestinate <4309> (5656), them <5128> he <2564> <0> also <2532> called <2564> (5656): and <2532> whom <3739> he called <2564> (5656), them <5128> he <1344> <0> also <2532> justified <1344> (5656): and <1161> whom <3739> he justified <1344> (5656) , them <5128> he <1392> <0> also <2532> glorified <1392> (5656).

31 What <5101> shall we <2046> <0> then <3767> say <2046> (5692) to <4314> these things <5023>? If <1487> God <2316> be for <5228> us <2257>, who <5101> can be against <2596> us <2257>?

32 He that <3739> <1065> spared <5339> (5662) not <3756> his own <2398> Son <5207>, but <235> delivered <3860> <0> him <846> up <3860> (5656) for <5228> us <2257> all <3956>, how <4459> shall he <5483> <0> not <3780> with <4862> him <846> also <2532> freely give <5483> (5695) us <2254> all things <3956>?

33 Who <5101> shall lay any thing <1458> (5692) to the charge <2596> of God’s <2316> elect <1588>? It is God <2316> that justifieth <1344> (5723).

34 Who <5101> is he that condemneth <2632> (5723) (5694)? It is Christ <5547> that died <599> (5631), yea <1161> rather <3123> <2532>, that is risen again <1453> (5685), who <3739> is <2076> (5748) even <2532> at <1722> the right hand <1188> of God <2316>, who <3739> also <2532> maketh intercession <1793> (5719) for <5228> us <2257>.

35 Who <5101> shall separate <5563> (5692) us <2248> from <575> the love <26> of Christ <5547> ? shall tribulation <2347>, or <2228> distress <4730>, or <2228> persecution <1375>, or <2228> famine <3042> , or <2228> nakedness <1132>, or <2228> peril <2794>, or <2228> sword <3162>?

36 As <2531> it is written <1125> (5769), <3754> For thy <4675> sake <1752> we are killed <2289> (5743) all <3650> the day long <2250>; we are accounted <3049> (5681) as <5613> sheep <4263> for the slaughter <4967>.

37 Nay <235>, in <1722> all <3956> these things <5125> we are more than conquerors <5245> (5719) through <1223> him that loved <25> (5660) us <2248>.

38 For <1063> I am persuaded <3982> (5769), that <3754> neither <3777> death <2288>, nor <3777> life <2222>, nor <3777> angels <32>, nor <3777> principalities <746>, nor <3777> powers <1411>, nor <3777> things present <1764> (5761), nor <3777> things to come <3195> (5723),<;br />
39 Nor <3777> height <5313>, nor <3777> depth <899>, nor <3777> any <5100> other <2087> creature <2937>, shall be able <1410> (5695) to separate <5563> (5658) us <2248> from <575> the love <26> of God <2316>, which is in <1722> Christ <5547> Jesus <2424> our <2257> Lord <2962>.

Ephesians 2:1 And <2532> you <5209> hath he quickened, who were <5607> (5752) dead <3498> in trespasses <3900> and <2532> sins <266>;

Christ in You the Hope of Glory

Colossians 1:27
To whom <3739> God <2316> would <2309> (5656) make known <1107> (5658) what <5101> is the riches <4149> of the glory <1391> of this <5127> mystery <3466> among <1722> the Gentiles <1484>; which <3739> is <2076> (5748) Christ <5547> in <1722> you <5213>, the hope <1680> of glory <1391>: {in: or, among}

The Manifestation of the Sons of God

Romans 8:19
For <1063> the earnest expectation <603> of the creature <2937> waiteth <553> (5736) for the manifestation <602> of the sons <5207> of God <2316>.

The Coming Together of the Body of Christ

John 17:21-23
That <2443> they all <3956> may be <5600> (5753) one <1520>; as <2531> thou <4771>, Father <3962>, art in <1722> me <1698>, and I <2504> in <1722> thee <4671>, that <2443> they <846> also <2532> may be <5600> (5753) one <1520> in <1722> us <2254>: that <2443> the world <2889> may believe <4100> (5661) that <3754> thou <4771> hast sent <649> (5656) me <3165>.

22 And <2532> the glory <1391> which <3739> thou gavest <1325> (5758) me <3427> I <1473> have given <1325> (5758) them <846>; that <2443> they may be <5600> (5753) one <1520>, even as <2531> we <2249> are <2070> (5748) one <1520>:

23 I <1473> in <1722> them <846>, and <2532> thou <4771> in <1722> me <1698>, that <2443> they may be <5600> (5753) made perfect <5048> (5772) in <1519> one <1520>; and <2532> that <2443> the world <2889> may know <1097> (5725) that <3754> thou <4771> hast sent <649> (5656) me <3165> , and <2532> hast loved <25> (5656) them <846>, as <2531> thou hast loved <25> (5656) me <1691>.

The New Testament Pattern For the New Testament Church

These building principles are found in the Book of Acts.

The Outpouring of the Latter Rain

Zechariah 10:1
Ask <07592> (8798) ye of the LORD <03068> rain <04306> in the time <06256> of the latter rain <04456> ; so the LORD <03068> shall make <06213> (8802) bright clouds <02385>, and give <05414> (8799) them showers <01653> of rain <04306>, to every one <0376> grass <06212> in the field <07704>. {bright…: or, lightnings}

Joel 2:23 Be glad <01523> (8798) then, ye children <01121> of Zion <06726>, and rejoice <08055> (8798) in the LORD <03068> your God <0430>: for he hath given <05414> (8804) you the former rain <04175> moderately <06666>, and he will cause to come down <03381> (8686) for you the rain <01653>, the former rain <04175>, and the latter rain <04456> in the first <07223> month. {the former rain moderately: or, a teacher of righteousness} {moderately: Heb. according to righteousness}

The Prophetic Spirit

1 Corinthians 14:3
But <1161> he that prophesieth <4395> (5723) speaketh <2980> (5719) unto men <444> to edification <3619>, and <2532> exhortation <3874>, and <2532> comfort <3889>.

The Ministry of Deliverance

Luke 4:18, 19
The Spirit <4151> of the Lord <2962> is upon <1909> me <1691>, because <1752> he hath anointed <5548> (5656) me <3165> to preach the gospel <2097> (5733) to the poor <4434>; he hath sent <649> (5758) me <3165> to heal <2390> (5664) the brokenhearted <4937> (5772) <2588>, to preach <2784> (5658) deliverance <859> to the captives <164>, and <2532> recovering of sight <309> to the blind <5185>, to set <649> (5658) at <1722> liberty <859> them that are bruised <2352> (5772),

19 To preach <2784> (5658) the acceptable <1184> year <1763> of the Lord <2962>.

Singing in the Spirit

1 Corinthians 14:15
What <5101> is it <2076> (5748) then <3767>? I will pray <4336> (5695) with the spirit <4151> , and <1161> I will pray <4336> (5695) with the understanding <3563> also <2532>: I will sing <5567> (5692) with the spirit <4151>, and <1161> I will sing <5567> (5692) with the understanding <3563> also <2532>.

Ephesians 5:19 Speaking <2980> (5723) to yourselves <1438> in psalms <5568> and <2532> hymns <5215> and <2532> spiritual <4152> songs <5603>, singing <103> (5723) and <2532> making melody <5567> (5723) in <1722> your <5216> heart <2588> to the Lord <2962>;

The Perfection of the Church

Daniel 8:13, 14
Then I heard <08085> (8799) one <0259> saint <06918> speaking <01696> (8764), and another <0259> saint <06918> said <0559> (8799) unto that certain <06422> saint which spake <01696> (8764), How long shall be the vision <02377> concerning the daily <08548> sacrifice, and the transgression <06588> of desolation <08074> (8802) , to give <05414> (8800) both the sanctuary <06944> and the host <06635> to be trodden under foot <04823>? {that…: or, the numberer of secrets, or, the wonderful numberer: Heb. Palmoni} {of…: or, making desolate}

14 And he said <0559> (8799) unto me, Unto two thousand <0505> and three <07969> hundred <03967> days <06153> <01242>; then shall the sanctuary <06944> be cleansed <06663> (8738). {days: Heb. evening morning} {cleansed: Heb. justified}

Revelation 12:1 And <2532> there appeared <3700> (5681) a great <3173> wonder <4592> in <1722> heaven <3772> ; a woman <1135> clothed <4016> (5772) with the sun <2246>, and <2532> the moon <4582> under <5270> her <846> feet <4228>, and <2532> upon <1909> her <846> head <2776> a crown <4735> of twelve <1427> stars <792>: {wonder: or, sign}

Ephesians 5:27 That <2443> he might present <3936> (5661) it <846> to himself <1438> a glorious <1741> church <1577>, not <3361> having <2192> (5723) spot <4696>, or <2228> wrinkle <4512>, or <2228> any <5100> such thing <5108>; but <235> that <2443> it should be <5600> (5753) holy <40> and <2532> without blemish <299>.

John 17:21 That <2443> they all <3956> may be <5600> (5753) one <1520>; as <2531> thou <4771>, Father <3962>, art in <1722> me <1698>, and I <2504> in <1722> thee <4671>, that <2443> they <846> also <2532> may be <5600> (5753) one <1520> in <1722> us <2254>: that <2443> the world <2889> may believe <4100> (5661) that <3754> thou <4771> hast sent <649> (5656) me <3165>.

The Feasts of the Lord With Emphasis on the Feast of Trumpets

Leviticus 23:23-25
And the LORD <03068> spake <01696> (8762) unto Moses <04872>, saying <0559> (8800),

24 Speak <01696> (8761) unto the children <01121> of Israel <03478>, saying <0559> (8800), In the seventh <07637> month <02320>, in the first <0259> day of the month <02320>, shall ye have a sabbath <07677>, a memorial <02146> of blowing <08643> of trumpets, an holy <06944> convocation <04744>.

25 Ye shall do <06213> (8799) no servile <05656> work <04399> therein: but ye shall offer <07126> (8689) an offering made by fire <0801> unto the LORD <03068>.

Numbers 10:1-10 And the LORD <03068> spake <01696> (8762) unto Moses <04872>, saying <0559> (8800),

2 Make <06213> (8798) thee two <08147> trumpets <02689> of silver <03701>; of a whole piece <04749> shalt thou make <06213> (8799) them: that thou mayest use <01961> (8804) them for the calling <04744> of the assembly <05712> , and for the journeying <04550> of the camps <04264>.

3 And when they shall blow <08628> (8804) with them <02004>, all the assembly <05712> shall assemble <03259> (8738) themselves to thee at the door <06607> of the tabernacle <0168> of the congregation <04150>.

4 And if they blow <08628> (8799) but with one <0259> trumpet, then the princes <05387>, which are heads <07218> of the thousands <0505> of Israel <03478>, shall gather <03259> (8738) themselves unto thee.

5 When ye blow <08628> (8804) an alarm <08643>, then the camps <04264> that lie <02583> (8802) on the east parts <06924> shall go forward <05265> (8804).

6 When ye blow <08628> (8804) an alarm <08643> the second time <08145>, then the camps <04264> that lie <02583> (8802) on the south side <08486> shall take their journey <05265> (8804): they shall blow <08628> (8799) an alarm <08643> for their journeys <04550>.

7 But when the congregation <06951> is to be gathered together <06950> (8687), ye shall blow <08628> (8799), but ye shall not sound an alarm <07321> (8686).

8 And the sons <01121> of Aaron <0175>, the priests <03548>, shall blow <08628> (8799) with the trumpets <02689>; and they shall be to you for an ordinance <02708> for ever <05769> throughout your generations <01755>.

9 And if ye go <0935> (8799) to war <04421> in your land <0776> against <06862> the enemy that oppresseth <06887> (8802) you, then ye shall blow an alarm <07321> (8689) with the trumpets <02689>; and ye shall be remembered <02142> (8738) before <06440> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and ye shall be saved <03467> (8738) from your enemies <0341> (8802).

10 Also in the day <03117> of your gladness <08057>, and in your solemn days <04150>, and in the beginnings <07218> of your months <02320>, ye shall blow <08628> (8804) with the trumpets <02689> over your burnt offerings <05930>, and over the sacrifices <02077> of your peace offerings <08002>; that they may be to you for a memorial <02146> before <06440> your God <0430>: I am the LORD <03068> your God <0430>.

The Tabernacle of David [Not Taught Until 1965]

Amos 9:11-15
In that day <03117> will I raise up <06965> (8686) the tabernacle <05521> of David <01732> that is fallen <05307> (8802), and close up <01443> (8804) the breaches <06556> thereof; and I will raise up <06965> (8686) his ruins <02034>, and I will build <01129> (8804) it as in the days <03117> of old <05769>: {close: Heb. hedge, or, wall}

12 That they may possess <03423> (8799) the remnant <07611> of Edom <0123>, and of all the heathen <01471>, which are called <07121> (8738) by my name <08034>, saith <05002> (8803) the LORD <03068> that doeth <06213> (8802) this. {which…: Heb. upon whom my name is called}

13 Behold, the days <03117> come <0935> (8802), saith <05002> (8803) the LORD <03068>, that the plowman <02790> (8802) shall overtake <05066> (8738) the reaper <07114> (8802), and the treader <01869> (8802) of grapes <06025> him that soweth <04900> (8802) seed <02233>; and the mountains <02022> shall drop <05197> (8689) sweet wine <06071>, and all the hills <01389> shall melt <04127> (8709). {soweth: Heb. draweth forth} {sweet: or, new}

14 And I will bring again <07725> (8804) the captivity <07622> of my people <05971> of Israel <03478>, and they shall build <01129> (8804) the waste <08074> (8737) cities <05892>, and inhabit <03427> (8804) them; and they shall plant <05193> (8804) vineyards <03754>, and drink <08354> (8804) the wine <03196> thereof; they shall also make <06213> (8804) gardens <01593>, and eat <0398> (8804) the fruit <06529> of them.

15 And I will plant <05193> (8804) them upon their land <0127>, and they shall no more be pulled up <05428> (8735) out of their land <0127> which I have given <05414> (8804) them, saith <0559> (8804) the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> .

Acts 15:16 After <3326> this <5023> I will return <390> (5692), and <2532> will build again <456> (5692) the tabernacle <4633> of David <1138>, which <3588> is fallen down <4098> (5761); and <2532> I will build again <456> (5692) the ruins <2679> (5772) thereof <846>, and <2532> I will set <461> <0> it <846> up <461> (5692):
