And that, Linda, is the plot of Hangar 18 as revealed towards the end of the film. We find out that Earth has been seeded by extraterrestrials and that humans are made in the alien image and that they tampered with an evolving species on this planet in order to create humans as we know them today. The Hangar 18 plot is why that film is so interesting, especially given its corporate history.

WHY DO YOU THINK OUR GOVERNMENT WANTED TO TEST THE WATERS IN THE 1980 TIME FRAME WITH A FILM SUCH AS HANGAR 18?
I don’t know, in short. However, throughout the 1980s, you had a lot of what I would consider to be misinformation seeded into the UFO community. There did seem to be right wing ideals associated with this.
AND YET, ROBBIE, THE FEATURE FILM HANGAR 18 MEANS THAT IN 1980 A FILM WAS PUT OUT INTO THE WORLD PUBLIC ALMOST AS A TEST OF A REALITY THAT THE GOVERNMENT KNEW.
Well, what I find interesting about Hangar 18 and also about all the other leaks that came in the 1980s was that there was an emphasis on the E. T.s ultimately being quite malevolent creatures – or at least something to be feared. Even in Hangar 18, they are described as using human beings as slaves and they (E.T.s) are coming back to Earth, presumably to reclaim it as their own and put us back to slavery.
DO YOU THINK THAT MIGHT EXPLAIN WHY NASA REFUSED TO COOPERATE WITH STEVEN SPIELBERG WHEN HE WANTED TO DO, AND DID DO, ENCOUNTERS OF THE 4TH KIND?
Yes. According to Spielberg, NASA declined assistance, Close Encounters, because NASA feared it would spark an epidemic of UFO reports and they didn’t want the public on their back reporting UFOs.

However, I think it is quite likely that if Spielberg’s film had presented the extraterrestrials as being malevolent, as having a hostile agenda, then I think it's much more likely that the U. S. military would have been very interested in lending their support to that film because then they would have put themselves in the position of being the heroes basically. They could show how the military would defend against an extraterrestrial invasion and encourage people to side with the military over potential alien visitors.
If the E.T.s really wanted to show themselves, ultimately they would do it regardless of any potential obstructions to that. However, it certainly can’t help that the E.T.s would know there has been a great deal of fear and distrust seeded into the popular consciousness about extraterrestrial visitation through Hollywood and military. That would be some kind of barrier, I suppose, to open contact, but it would not prevent the E. T.s from doing it if they really wanted to do it. I’m sure when the time comes – if it comes – the E.T.s will do it no matter what.
IN YOUR OWN SPECULATION ABOUT THIS WHOLE PHENOMENON, WHAT IS YOUR GUESS ABOUT WHY NON-HUMANS, WHO MIGHT PROBABLY HAVE BEEN TERRAFORMING THIS EARTH FOR MILLENNIA AND MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GREEK CIVILIZATION, THE EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION AND THE MESOPOTAMIAN CIVILIZATION WHILE MANY NATIONS ACCEPT THAT THERE IS OTHER LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE, INCLUDING THE MORMONS. SO WHY WOULD TELLING THE TRUTH CAUSE CHAOS ON THIS PLANET?
I don’t think we’re ready for it. Ultimately, the people who are in control of this UFO and E.T. subject – the Real Government, essentially a Shadow Government – which are tied into high corporate structures and think tanks. These groups stand to lose everything – they are not thinking about this in terms of what can humanity gain? But what can we, the special interest groups, lose if the public is told the truth? And it’s special interest groups who ultimately have the say on whether or not this information is released to the public beyond the extraterrestrials themselves. The special interest groups are the ones who call the shots. They are the ones who have the technology, the documentation.
The Shadow Government has the smoking gun. If they want to release the truth, they can. But they don’t want to release it because they have no interest in bettering humanity through the release of this information. They’ve found themselves in a position that is very precarious, very difficult. They are probably racked with fear and concern on a daily basis. How do you release this information even if you wanted to without fear of being publicly hauled through the streets and lynched or prosecuted? It’s very difficult. So I think if disclosure comes, it will be forced. It will be something where an act on the part of the UFO beings themselves forces the government to disclose.
And it won’t be full disclosure because full disclosure is too costly. It’s too risky. It will be disclosure on their terms, and it will be disclosure in a way that does not overly incriminate them.
HANGAR 18 HAS SUCH A STRONG IMPLICATION OF A GOVERNMENT CAPABLE OF DESTROYING PEOPLE TO KEEP THE PRESENCE OF NON-HUMANS FROM THE PUBLIC AND THE MEDIA VERSUS THE 1951 THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL THAT WOULD INVOLVE WHAT I’VE BEEN TOLD THAT IT WAS A CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY PLANTED SCRIPT SPECIFICALLY TO TEST THE PUBLIC ON THE PREMISE THAT THERE ARE EXTRATERRESTRIAL BIOLOGICAL ENTITIES OUT THERE WITH GREAT INTELLIGENCE, GREAT TECHNOLOGY, AND THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO BRING DOWN OUR POWER GRIDS – BUT THEY CAME WITH A PEACEFUL INTENT.
Right. Well, on the subject of The Day the Earth Stood Still and in regards to the comments you heard from U. S. Air Force Intelligence during the early 1980s while you were producing a documentary (for Home Box Office) on UFOs, they told you that The Day the Earth Stood Still was a test of public reaction to first contact and it was a CIA production, essentially.
Over the last few months, I’ve been conducting some more research into this and I’ve actually found quite an amount of circumstantial evidence that would strongly support what you were told as being true.”
1951 - The Day the Earth Stood Still
On September 28, 1951, the original Hollywood feature The Day the Earth Stood Still was first released in black-and-white starring Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal. The story is about a humanoid alien visitor named Klaatu who comes to Earth in a silver disc with his robot, Gort, to issue humankind a warning. The original screenwriter, Edmund H. North, based the script on a short story by Harry Bates entitled “Farewell to the Master,” published in the October 1940 issue of Astounding Science-Fiction.
After demonstrating his ability to stop all machines and electric grids powered by magnetic fields, Klaatu warns the people of Earth to either abandon warfare and peacefully join other nations in the cosmos - or be destroyed, adding, “The decision rests with you.” Then Klaatu and Gort enter the spaceship and leave Earth.

founded by Darryl F. Zanuck in 1933. He had worked for the U. S. Army
during WWII and with CIA-related organizations after the war.

Back in 1983, I was in the script development phase of producing an hour special documentary for Home Box Office with the working title UFOs: The E. T. Factor. During research, I was told by an intelligence source that the funding and script inspiration for The Day the Earth Stood Still were actually provided by the Central Intelligence Agency behind-the-scenes in order to test the public's reaction to extraterrestrials - both biological and android - that could cause large scale electrical blackouts.
Reinforcing that concept of CIA manipulation of Hollywood to produce movies that can alter public perceptions and be used to monitor public reactions are details that Robbie Graham has learned about Darry F. Zanuck, who was in control of the 1951 production and release for The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Robbie Graham: “Notable is Darryl Zanuck. Now Darryl Zanuck was the Production Chief of 20th Century Fox during the 1951 time of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Darryl Zanuck was in charge of an Army Signal Corps documentary unit during the Second World War. And at the time of The Day the Earth Stood Still production, Darryl Zanuck was a board member of the National Committee for a Free Europe (NCFP), which was established by the CIA in 1949, ostensibly as a private anti-Soviet organization quite similar to the American Security Council.

As a star member of this committee, Zanuck was directly associated with this organization’s Executive Committee, which included the future CIA Director Allan Dulles and the future U. S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
In 1951, when The Day the Earth Stood Still was being written, produced and released, the president of the NCFP - of which Zanuck was a member - the president was Charles Douglas Jackson. Now, Jackson served as Deputy Chief of Psychological Warfare for the Supreme Allied Force during World War II and would later be appointed as Special Adviser to President Eisenhower for psychological warfare. He was described as one of the most influential covert strategists in America. This is Charles Douglas Jackson we’re talking about here.”

- Adviser to President Eisenhower on psychological warfare from February 1953 to March 1954, working closely with the Psychological Strategy Board and was a member of the Operations Coordinating Board.
- Member of the Committee on International Information Activities.
- Established the Bilderberg Group and ensured American participation from 1953 to 1954. ]

So, movie producer Darryl Zanuck was described by the government’s chief psychological war expert as being a friend, who could be relied upon to insert ideas into their scripts. That’s all hard, documented fact.
Now, with this in mind and in light of what intelligence officers told you, Linda, about The Day the Earth Stood Still being a CIA test of public reaction, there is a memo from Darryl Zanuck to the movie’s producer, Julian Blaustein, who was also a veteran of the Signal Corps, and to screenwriter Edmond H. North. This memo was dated August 10, 1950. In this memo, Zanuck stresses that every effort should be made to ‘compel the audience to completely accept this story as something that could possibly happen in the not too distant future.’
Zanuck placed particular emphasis on the now very famous iconic scene in which Klaatu, the alien, lands the flying saucer in Washington, D. C. before emerging to address the public. And Zanuck advised the producer Blaustein and screenwriter North in his memo to, ‘treat this scene as realistically as you possibly can.’ Zanuck even suggested that the scene should play out in documentary style. He said, ‘You should suddenly hear radio programs being interrupted with startling flash announcements from Washington, New York and Los Angeles. The whole nation is listening in. It should be dramatized like the opening of a documentary film.’
Zanuck said that the audience must ‘accept our entire project.’ And virtually all of his script suggestions were followed. So, there you have Darryl Zanuck, the driving force behind The Day the Earth Stood Still, being directly connected to the CIA and to America’s political and intelligence elite – a propagandist during the war, who fully understood the propaganda process, and this is the guy who signed off on the scripts and who, in his own memo, stressed to the producer and writer, ‘This film should be ultra realistic.’ That would support what you were told by Air Force intelligence officers.
61 Years Later Only Persistent
WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A SCENE LIKE ZANUCK WAS STRESSING OF OUT FRONT EXTRATERRESTRIAL PRESENTATION OF ITSELF TO THIS PLANET SINCE 1951 WHEN THE MOVIE WAS RELEASED?
Why haven’t E. T.s themselves decided to disclose their own presence? Another question would be why hasn’t the government decided to do it?
I couldn’t even begin to speculate as to E. T. agendas. They are enigmatic as ever. This is a subject, which has just become increasingly complex as the decades have gone by. So, from (Roswell) 1947 to 1951 when The Day the Earth Stood Still was produced is a short amount of time and God knows what the government was thinking?
There is no reason they would have thought that 60 some years later this thing would still be secret. They would probably have thought, ‘My God, these things are being seen in the thousands. People are seeing them from all walks of life all over the world. There’s only so long that we can keep a lid on this and probably any day now, it’s going to be out in the open. Therefore, we have to prepare for that eventuality. We have to start controlling or influencing how people perceive the phenomenon. We’re going to have to try to acclimate people to this reality. We have to explore different avenues in which to do that.’
Cinema was one way to do that. Hence, the idea that The Day the Earth Stood Still might have been an acclimation project. Note that in The Day the Earth Stood Still there is no government cover-up. This is something that is sprung on the U. S. government as it is sprung on the general populace.”
